One of the most thrilling events that takes place here in the north country, is a chance encounter with one of our local residents, the all inspiring moose! The majestic creatures meander throughout the area, and although they may be less prevalent than in years past, many continue to inhabit the forests here, and are quite exciting to see! Such was the case for Frank Intravaia, one afternoon last summer. While Frank was in Pittsburg visiting his brother Tony, he decided to take a trip to explore Moose Alley, and he happened across a bull moose lumbering through a woodland marsh. Frank quickly grabbed his camera, and was fortunate enough to snap a stunning photograph of that eventful moment. Tony was so thrilled with the image, that he commissioned me to do a painting of the moose based on the photograph. So, Frank's thrilling encounter, transformed to paint on a 24 x 30 canvas, will be a topic of conversation for the Intravaia family for many years to come!
This handsome bull moose may not have realized the significance, but he will be lumbering across the canvas on a wall designated especially for him. I am so glad I had the opportunity to help Frank and Tony memorialize that very exciting moment!
