My Story

Life itself is a work of art filled with dreams and purpose.

About
Brenda Burgess Kenney

I'm a landscape, portrait, and mixed media artist living in Pittsburg, N.H. with my wonderful husband of 40 years.  After raising three children, we now happily embrace the roles of playing Papa and Grammie to our beautiful grandchildren.

I find joy and happiness in the little things.

Painting elevates my feeling of connection to the simple beauty found in all living things, and to the energy and essence of the world that surrounds me.  I am inspired by the peacefulness

of our landscapes.

My highest goal is to convey a sense of peace and belonging to my collectors, while elevating delight and acceptance for those who view my work.  Love and kindness co-exist with nature, where all things living are beautiful and worthy.

History

Notebook Dried Plants
When I was a child, my studio was in the branches of a maple tree.  I loved listening to the leaves in the wind, and found solace in being out in nature.  My love of art grew up with me, always there, and always part of who I am.

As years passed, the beauty and challenge of living often intermingled with my endeavors to create.  But, I continued to hone my skills in various mediums, never losing sight of my dream and vision of becoming a "real" artist.

Growth comes in thoughtful choices, tender empathy, and persistence.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to learn from a wonderful high school art teacher, and then pursue art in college.  I am grateful to have participated in many galleries, exhibitions and shows over the years.  I have found friends in my art memberships, and enjoyed passing on my love of art teaching local classes and workshops.  I've won awards for some of my pieces, and I've been incredibly blessed to be able to work personally with my collectors.

My love of nature and my feeling of deep connection to our landscapes, continues to flow through my brushes.  When I paint, I am still grounded in the vision I had as a little girl.  My studio windows still look out among the treetops.  But, experience has taught me to slow down, take a breath, and savior the little, often most important things.
I will take the time to explore my own existence and what that truly means.
