The intricate petals of purple irises emerge in the earliest season of summer.  They hover high above surrrounding wildflowers and grasses, seeming to say, "I am strong, I have courage, I have wisdom."   Then, quickly surrounded by the brilliance of tiny buttercups,  akin to the joy of youth and purity,  they bend to show grace in maturity,  and pass along the kindness of gentle wisdom.
